Bob Scholte (1902-1983), was a singer from Amsterdam. He was ment to become precentor (leading singer) in a synagogue, but started to sing in theatres in 1916.
In 1931 he started to work for the radio and became well-known with songs like 'Oh Monah' (1931); 'A house with a garden'/'Een huis met een tuintje' (1933); and 'Good night and sleep well'/'Goedenacht en welterusten' (1934). Scholte also became a cast member of the radio programmes The colourful tuesday evening train/De bonte dinsdagavondtrein (1948-1957) and Where are those days/Waar blijft de tijd (in the 1960's).

The above song 'Sprinkle a litte sun'/'Breng eens een zonnetje' (1936) was one of the optimistic, cheerful songs that were written during the crisis (the Great Depression, the worldwide economic depression in the 1930's), to cheer up the people and give them a little courage. Other examples on this website are: 'Plunge in sunshine' (1936) and 'Enjoy life at all times' (1937).
The song was covered by many other singers through the years, like August de Laat, Louis Davids, The Ramblers, Johnny Jordaan, Willy Alberti and André van Duin.
Henri Theunisse (1887-1956) was a composer and songwriter. Some of his well-known songs are: 'Look to the stars for a moment'/'Kijk je 's avonds even naar de sterren' (1928); 'I rented a house with a garden'/'Ik heb een huis met een tuintje gehuurd' (1933); and 'Sitting on my pigeons roof'/'Zit ik op mijn duivenplatje' (1947).
