Angela Groothuizen (1959) is a Dutch singer and television host. She became a 'BN-er' (Bekende Nederlander, 'Well-known Dutch person') as singer in the English singing girls band the Dolly Dots (1979-1988).
The Dolly Dots were very popular and also had international success. Their biggest hits include: 'Radio' (1979; which was a Platinum album in Japan); 'S.T.O.P.' (1981); 'Do wah diddy diddy' (1982); 'Love me just a little bit more' (1983, which reached a number one position in the Top 40); 'She's a liar' (1984); and 'What a night' (1987).
After the Dolly Dots, Angela Groothuizen made many theatre shows, released solo cd's and she became a successful tv-host, with programs like Who is the mole, X Factor (member of jury), The voice of Holland (coach), It Takes 2 (member of jury) and Holland's Got Talent (member of jury). In 2012 she won the Annie M.G. Schmidt Award for the song 'Vinkeveen'.

Ten years after the Dolly Dots broke up, they released a compilation album (The Collection, 1998). On this occasion, they performed in Paul de Leeuw's tv-show The Lion Late Night/Laat De Leeuw. Another ten years later, in 2007, they gave reunion concerts, including three concerts in Ahoy, Rotterdam.
The above song 'Niets blijft' (2010) she sang for her friend and former Dolly Dot Ria, who died of cancer in 2009. She donated all the profits to the charitable institution fighting cancer KWF Kankerbestrijding.
The remaining five former Dolly Dots announced they would never give reunion concerts again.
