Rijk de Gooijer (1925-2011), stage name Gooyer, was a Dutch actor, singer and comedian. He started working as trainee reporter at a broadcasting studio. During a celebration evening of the staff, he performed a funny sketch. It made such a good impression, that his employers asked him to make radioprogramms as comedian and radio drama actor. He also performed in theatres, for example with news satiricus Wim Kan.
In 1952 he met comedian Johnny Kraaijkamp (1925-2011). Until 1992 they made, on and off, many comical theater and television shows as duo Johnny & Rijk. They also released many singles and records together.
One of the characters he played in the shows, was a man named Bartels. Bartels was born in Utrecht (like De Gooyer himself) and spoke with a heavy Utrecht city-dialect. Above song, he sang as Bartels, is still very well-known and beloved in Utrecht (as well as an alternative version of Utrecht singer Herman Berkien).
