Oh Sixteen Oh Seven (or: 01607) was a Dutch band from the province of Brabant in the 1970's and 1980's. The band had seven band members, for example: Clemens Duijnstee and Thijs van der Molen (singer). They all met at the brass band of Prinsenbeek, Amor Musae.
The name 01607 is the area dialling code of the village they all lived: Prinsenbeek, near Breda (North-Brabant). The band released only three other songs, under which: 'Orange for ever'/'Oranje boven' and 'Olé olé lala' (1980).
Above song was a big national hit. It was in the Top 40 for nine weeks. The single was released in the weeks before the carnival, which in Brabant is celebrated extensively for three days in February. But the song didn't turn out to be only a carnival hit ('carnavalskraker') or party song, but it became an evergreen, still very much beloved in Brabant.

The song led to a lawsuit, because some musical measures seemed to resemblance a part of the song 'My Brabant'/'Mijn Brabant' by Laetantius en Hildebrand. Above this, producer Ad Kramer changed one word of the lyrics and so also became a rightful claimant of the earnings. Only thirty years later, copyright organisation Buma/Stemra confirmed there is no indication of plagiarism. But the real songwriters weren't paid with retroactive effect.
The province of Brabant (officially North-Brabant, because the southern part is situated in nowadays Belgium) lies in the south of the Netherlands. The name means 'swampy or muddy area' ('braec bant'). The region language is Brabants, a Low Franconian language ('Nederfrankisch'). The lyrics mention three areas: De Peel, a raised bog or wetland ('hoogveen'); De Kempen, a big area with sandy heath lands and shallow meres; and the Meierij, the bailiwick (the area of jurisdiction) of the former Duke of Brabant.
