Henk Westbroek (1952) is a radio dj, singer and lyricist from Utrecht. In 1979 he formed the Dutch 'Nederpop-band' ('Netherpop') Het Goede Doel ('the good cause', 'the charitable institution'), with singer-composer Henk Temming. The word 'Nederpop' refers to the sudden growth of Dutch language pop music in the Netherlands in the eighties (with bands like Doe Maar, Frank Boeijen Group, Drukwerk, Klein Orkest and Toontje Lager).
The biggest hits of Het Goede Doel were 'Belgium'/'België' (1982), 'Hostage'/'Gijzelaar' (1982), 'Friendship'/'Vriendschap' (1983), 'I dance, so I exist'/'Ik dans, dus ik besta' (1986), 'Tried everything'/'Alles geprobeerd' (1986), and 'Everything can make a person happy'/'Alles kan een mens gelukkig maken', with singer René Froger (1989). In the 1990's they focused on their solo careers, but from 2001 onward, they started recording and giving concerts together again.

Henk Westbroek is also a radio dj, with radio programs like Think of Henk/Denk aan Henk (1992-2003). Furthermore he made television programs for Regio TV Utrecht (2002-present). He also is the owner of the café Stairway to heaven in Utrecht and was politically active in the city council of Utrecht.
Above song 'Even your name is beautiful'/'Zelfs je naam is mooi' (1998) was Henk Westbroek's biggest hit as a solo artist. It was for 33 weeks continuously in the National Hit Parade Top 40 and thereby it was admitted to the List of Most Successful Top 40 Hits (ranking number 68/100; this list contains only 8 hits in the Dutch language).
The song is still voted every year into the Top 2000 (traditionally broadcasted on the radio the last week of the year), as high as position 96/2000. Henk Westbroek wrote the song for his beloved Julia (she is British), with whom he has a relationship since they were 17 years old (but they never married). They have a daughter together.
