Maaike Ouboter (1992) is a singer-songwriter. She became well-known in 2013, due to a singing contest on television, called The best singer-songwriter of the Netherlands.
During her high school, she lost both of her parents, her mother when she was 14, her father when she was 16. She wrote above song 'That I miss you'/'Dat ik je mis' in memory of her parents. After she sang the song in the contest on television, the single became a hit and the YouTube-video was watched over 3 million times in the first month. She came in second in the songwriter contest.

The song was in the National Hit Parade Top 40 for 17 weeks, highest position number 2. The song is voted into the Top 2000 (traditionally broadcasted on the radio the last week of the year) since 2013 (as high as number 106/2000).
In the summer of 2013 the royal family asked Maaike Ouboter to sing her song during the funeral of prince Friso (son of queen Beatrix, brother of king Willem-Alexander), who had died after a skiing avalanche accident.
In 2015 she released her first album, And how the day returns nonetheless/En hoe het dan ook weer dag wordt. It also reached a number one position.
