Leen Jongewaard (1927-1996) was a Dutch actor and singer. He is most known for his roles in television series like The sheep with the 5 legs/'t Schaep met de 5 pooten (1969-1970) and A lemon with sugar/Citroentje met suiker (1972-1974). He had a hit with the song 'At a lovely Whitsunday' (1965). In Yes sister, no sister/Ja zuster, nee zuster (1966-1968) he plays the role of granddad.
Wim Sonneveld (1917-1974) was a Dutch cabaret artist and singer. He is considered to be one of the 'Great Three' of Dutch cabaret (with Toon Hermans and Wim Kan). Some of his most beloved songs are 'The village'/'Het dorp'; and 'Along the canals of Amsterdam'/'Aan de Amsterdamse grachten'.
In the series Yes nurse, no nurse/Ja zuster, nee zuster (1966-1968) Jongewaard sang (besides above song) also songs like 'My granddad'/'M'n opa', 'Wil u een stekkie van de fuchsia'/ 'Would you like a sprout of the fuchsia', and 'Samen met u onder een paraplu'/ 'Together with you under an umbrella'. Vinkeveen is a village between Amsterdam and Utrecht, known for its recreation lakes.

Annie M.G. Schmidt (1911-1995) was one of the most beloved text writers of the Netherlands. She wrote children's books and poetry, poetry for adults, songs, plays and musicals. She is known for her humor and talent for seemingly easy rhyming.
