Nick & Simon (2006-2023) were a Dutch duo of singer-songwriters from Volendam (province of North-Holland). Both have singing family members. Nick Schilder (1983) and Simon Keizer (1984) met each other in high school. They became nationwide known when they participated in the reallife-soap (2005-2008) of their good friend and singer Jan Smit.
Their most well-known hits include (beside above song): 'Look up'/'Kijk omhoog' (2007); 'Rosanne' (2008); 'How long'/'Hoe lang' (2008); and 'Julia' (2013). This last song, 'Julia', is registered in the Guinness Book of World Records, because they released 154 versions of the song, each with a different female name.
The song 'Just take my hand'/'Pak maar m'n hand' (2007) was the theme song of the film The ship-boys of Bontekoe/De scheepsjongens van Bontekoe (2007), a book adaption. In the clip some scenes of the movie are shown, interchanged with their performance.

The song was in the National Hit Parade Top 40 for nine weeks and has been voted into the Top 2000 (traditionally broadcasted on the radio the last week of the year) since 2009 (as high as place 218/2000).
Nick and Simon often participated in television shows, like After the summer/De zomer voorbij (2007-2011), The voice of Holland (2010-2012, as coaches), The American/South African/Caribbean Dream (2011-2014), and Delicious Dutch/Lekker Nederlands (2015-2019).
Gordon Groothedde (1968) is a Dutch producer and composer. He worked for the band Krezip, for Nick & Simon, 3JS, Xander de Buisonjé, Waylon, Loïs Lane, Miss Montreal, Guus Meeuwis, Golden Earring, René Froger, Marco Borsato and many other artists.
